NELSON BA JACO
Nelson ba Jaco (Nelson goes to Jaco) is an experimental film on a boat trip from Valu Jaco beach to Jaco island, the further east point in Timor-Leste. It was the first time photographer Nelson Turquel landed in the island. The music recordings of the paired flutes were made by musicologist Philip Yampolsky and played by the elders of Tutuala. Jaco island is a sacred place for the locals.
