MOXA
MOXA is a short film for the song with the same title from the album “Sounds and Cries of the World” by Jen Shyu and Jade Tongue. The film is inspired by a dream and it was edited to Jen’s beautiful and generous sound using David’s footage archive from Timor-Leste and recalling Jen’s research trip to the young nation in 2010, when they both met and became friends. The album was released by Pi Recordings on September 18, 2005 at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City. The film opened Jen’s performance at Jamboree Club during her World Tour in December 2015. “Shyu is a remarkable phenomenon, shifting registers with startling ease and tonal resourcefulness…” – John Fordham, The Guardian. “Jen Shyu is among New York’s most invigorating vocal presences. And perhaps the most enigmatic.” – Larry Blumenfeld, Wall Street Journal. Credits: |
