This short photo essay portrays the leftovers from the relocation of Dili’s famous Hali-laran market. Somehow it felt that the memory of what it was left when it happened, it didn’t completely seem to have happened at all. During the second week of July 2014, the vendors were told to relocate their stalls to the New Taibessi market, a near by existing market a couple of miles east in the neighbourhood. At the time of removal, Hali-Laran was selling annually around 3.5 million kilograms of fresh fruit and vegetables. It included also an area with the most impressive 2nd hand clothing items you would never imagine they could reach this part of the world.
